Super Bowl Champion Eagles Going To White House June 5th

The Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles will visit White House on June 5th.  The team received an invite in April and the date was announced yesterday.  Eagles safety Malcom Jenkins, one of the league's most vocal players on social issues, stated he would travel with the team to Washington, D.C. but did not plan on visiting the White House.

Chris Long and Torrey Smith are other players who have publicly stated they would not attend.  Only 34 New England Patriots went to the White House last year, with Tom Brady among the notable absentees. The Golden State Warriors chose not to visit the White House last year after winning the NBA Finals. Some Warriors players even got into a public spat with President Donald Trump, who later rescinded the invite.
