Robinson named MW Player of the Week

Fresno State's Orlando Robinson averaged a double-double in leading the Bulldogs to a 2-0 record last week.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresno State junior forward Orlando Robinson was named the Mountain West Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.

This is the first career conference player of the week award for Robinson, who leads the MW in scoring (19.8 points) and also has averaged 8.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.1 steals per game this season.

Robinson is the sixth Bulldog to earn MW Player of the Week honors (10th overall selection) and first since Deshon Taylor in 2019. Marvelle Harris was a five-time MW Player of the Week selection from 2013-16.

MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

ORLANDO ROBINSON, FRESNO STATE

Junior, Forward, Las Vegas, Nevada/Middlebrooks Academy

Guided Fresno State to a 79-59 win over San José State and a 73-68 victory at UNLV.

Averaged 27.5 points and 11.5 rebound per game, while shooting 47.6 percent from the floor. Also tallied five assists, two blocks and two steals.

In the win against SJSU, scored a season-high 31 points with 12 boards, four assists and two steals.

Registered second double-double of the week at UNLV with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Also recorded two blocks and an assist.
