Pipion claims 400 win at Spokane Sports Showcase

SPOKANE, Wash. - Fresno State's Ceonna Pipion added another event win to her total during the indoor season, winning the 400 meters on Friday at Spokane Sports Showcase held at The Podium. The Bulldogs had six Top-5 finishes on the day.

Pipion claimed her win with a time of 53.47. It was the senior's second straight win this season in the event. Pipion also helped the Bulldogs' 4x400 relay to a season-best time of 3:42.24 to place third. Also on the team was Itzia Mejia Garcia who took third in the 200 meters. The sophomore lowered her personal best to 24.09 which remains fourth on the program's all-time list.

Also on the track, Chiara Pedol placed fifth in the mile, crossing the line in 5:03.47.

In the field, Liz Tarczy took runner-up in the high jump. The sophomore finished with a top clearance of 1.72m/5-7.75.

In the throwing cage, Zoe Yeast placed fourth in the weight throw with a mark of 18.87m/61-11 on her fourth attempt. Emma Harper took fifth in the shot put with a toss of 12.78m/41-11.5.
