Mountain West releases 2025 schedule

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Mountain West announced the 2025 football schedule on Thursday. The Bulldogs' 2025 season kicks off with a Week 0 game at Kansas (Aug. 23). Fresno State is one of two MW teams to compete in Week 0. Fresno State's nonconference schedule wraps up with Georgia Southern (Aug. 30), at Oregon State (Sept. 6) and Southern University (Sept. 13).

Thursday's announcement unveiled the Bulldogs' conference opener will be at Hawai'i on Sept. 20. The Bulldogs will have their first bye week of the season following the trip to the island.

Fresno State returns from its bye to host Nevada on Oct. 4 before traveling to Fort Collins to face Colorado State on Oct. 11. The Bulldogs' second bye of the season comes in Week 8.

The Bulldogs return to action for back-to-back rivalry games, first hosting San Diego State for the Old Oil Can trophy on Oct. 25, then traveling to Boise State for the Milk Can trophy on Nov. 1. Fresno State's third and final bye week of the season comes following the trip to Boise.

The 'Dogs come out of the bye to back-to-back home games in November, hosting Wyoming on Nov. 15 and Utah State on Nov. 22.

Fresno State will close out the regular season at San Jose State in the battle for the Valley Trophy on Nov. 29.

The 2025 schedule will play out over 15 weeks, concluding with the Old Trapper Mountain West Football Championship game on Friday, Dec 5. The contest will feature the two teams with the highest Conference winning percentage.

This marks phase one of the 2025 football schedule rollout. In the next phase, MW national television partners CBS Sports and FOX Sports will begin making game selections, including potential Friday game shifts. This will be followed by assigning network outlets and kick times.

The Bulldogs are coached by first-year head coach Matt Entz. 2025 season tickets are open for renewals and deposits now.
